Publisher review:Sophos Anti-Virus is a security solution that is able to detect both Mac and Windows malware threats. Sophos Anti-Virus will deal with different types of malicious code (worms, viruses or Trojans), making sure that both your Mac and your network are protected.
Sophos Anti-Virus offers you the possibility to scan your local drives but also allows you to scan only certain files, folders or volumes.
The “On-access scanning” should be enabled at all times: this way, whenever you are moving, copying or opening a file, Sophos Anti-Virus will analyze it. You will be able to access the file only if it is marked as harmless.
The different scanning modes can be personalized to match your own needs. Sophos Anti-Virus also gives you the possibility to create your own exclusion lists.
You are also able to scan individual files by simply dragging and dropping them on top of the Sophos Anti-Virus Dock icon. You may choose to enable the Sophos Anti-Virus contextual menu and assign hotkeys to launch the process.
If the antivirus detects an infected file, it will automatically send it to the Quarantine Manager. Here you can view the threat details and try to clean the file up. Note that the process will note repair the potential damages.
